Carpe Diem has just completed work on a new website for Sales-Link. This dynamic company asked us to design a clean, bright website that would effectively showcase their events marketing services.

The site incorporates subtle flash animation, and a dynamic flash gallery that is updatable by a 'simple to use' content management system.

07/05/2008  Onitsuka Tiger - A Vending Machine for Shoes?...
This is a Flash site built to highlight the world’s first ever Onitsuka Tiger trainer vending machine, created exclusively by Japanese sports fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger. It is as easy to use as getting hold of a chocolate bar or a can of pop as well as being the most convenient way to ensure your feet look good at all times.

The latest advance in sneaker shopping comes after months of arduous design work by the Onitsuka Tiger team. The machine is made up of over 100 bespoke parts and can vend 24 pairs of trainers at any one time, in any of 6 sizes.

29/04/2008  UKTV Style Home Heist web banners.
Carpe Diem recently completed work on a series of web banners as part of a marketing campaign aimed at promoting the UKTV Style television series "Home Heist".

The banners were cross media and covered everything from animated gifs to flash video.

10/03/2008  First 08 update.
It has been a busy start to the year with several large projects going live and a couple of smaller one in between. We have had two large, bespoke e-commerce sites go live in Branches and Lotus Shoes, two full Flash sites (Asics Inner Muscle and Digconn) and a complete branding solution for Amoda.

13/07/2007  Quick update for numerous projects.
It's been very busy recently. First off we have redeveloped the whole Asics Tech Tours range of media, from web to print, and are working on the cross media launch for their new flag ship shoe, the Kinsei 2, this October. This will feature alot of 3D graphics and video, mixed with tradition 2D artwork.

We have completed a Presentation Program for GlaxoSmithKline that allows an administrator to show spreadsheets, videos and images on a TV screen at their head office. It is all updatable via a simple text file.

And we have a couple of nice new projects on the boil now that we will be releasing soon.

01/04/2007  Carpe Diem Trust set off for the Pole.
Sunday the 1st April saw Jan (in the attempt to become the oldest woman to walk/ski to the Magnetic North Pole), Daniel and Richard set off for the Pole. They will be posting regular updates on their progress. Fingers crossed for them!

28/01/2007  Return of the Ombudsman Service
After creating the CMS back-end of the Energy Supply Ombudsman site last year The Ombudsman Service Ltd (TOSL) have come back to Carpe Diem and asked us to create an entirely new site for the Telecommunications Ombudsman, OTELO.

The site is in the early stages of development right now but expect a customer focused site with AAA accessibilty standards, as well as streaming audio content.

18/01/2007  National Events promoted with online email campaign
Utilising the recently completed Database Engine, Asics have begun a national campaign to help people find out about how they walk and run, and the best type of shoe to help them stay fit and injury free. See www.techtours.co.uk for more information.

Carpe Diem have produced a series of directed email information letters to help spread the work to anybody who may live with a close distance of any event.

07/01/2007  Asics Database Manager Goes Live
With a database of thousands and promotions throughout the year people's information can become somewhat combersome.

In line with Asics policy on privacy, the Database Manager allows people who have registered to log in and check their details (and delete them if they wish) while providing Asics with the power and flexibility to create custom databases and CSVs to reach the most relevant people for their products.

25/11/2006  Asics Nordic Walking Site Live
Asics has partnered up with nordicwalking.co.uk, the UK's foremost site for the fast growing leisure activity.

Carpe Diem have created a full Flash site with information for anyone who wants to learn more about the pass time as well as an online booking facility for anyone interested in joining any of the Nordic Walking classes taking part up and down the country.

16/11/2006  Carpe Diem sponsor... Carpe Diem!
The Carpe Diem Trust is a newly registered charity, that hopes to become fully operational in the second half of 2007. The aim of the Trust is to help ordinary people who are planning to do something extraordinary.

Carpe Diem Inc (us!) are developing a Content Management System that, in version 1 of a phased development, will be a static site that will help raise awareness of the charity. Phase 2 will introduce the tools whereby any authorised user can update the site. Phase 3 will introduce a dynamic photo gallery and Phase 4 will introduce the ability to change graphical elements. We also host this site.

Update 10/2007 - Phase 4 completed. Full control of the site now rests with the Carpe Diem Trust.

06/11/2006  North West Face climbing centre - live.
The North West Face climbing centre's marketing site has just gone live. This is an animated Flash site whereby you navigate over the wall the the different sections of content. Carpe Diem also took photographs for the gallery that is contained within this site.

Carpe Diem will launch the e-commerce site soon.

This full Flash site for musician Donna Marie contains a host of downloads, music and information. It features a fully interactive media play combined with a distinctive user interface and complex animation.

29/08/2006  Financial Recruitment site goes live.
Adele Carr Financial Recruitment is one of Carpe Diem's longest serving clients. This site is an upgrade on a previous site also created by Carpe Diem. As well as having a graphical overhaul the job search feature was completely recoded from scratch to make candidate and staff searchs quicker and more detailed. Carpe Diem also host this site.

14/08/2006  15 sites that changed our world.
15 years ago the Amazon was a large river in South America. Ryanair was an Irish airline that flew to places nobody had ever heard of. eBay was a typo. Yahoo was a term from Gulliver's Travels. A googol was a very large number (one followed by a hundred zeroes). Classified ads were densely printed matter in newspapers. 'Encyclopedia' was a synonym for Encyclopedia Britannica. ISB's website is now up for the world to see. Carpe Diem redesigned the site from scratch, reorganised the content into more user friendly layout utilising a mixture of direct information and downloads. Carpe Diem also host the site with a full stats package that includes search engine optimisation.

02/08/2006  Reagent website now on the web.
The Reagent website has just gone live to compliment the release of the companies catalogue CD-ROM. The catalogue is a large online database covering the entire range of their products. An online catalogue was chosen over traditional printed media for several reasons. These include the high costs incurred during a print run (including reprint costs), the potential for search engines to channel more business to the company, and the ease with which products can be updated, as well as clients notified.

24/07/2006  Steps Charity website goes live.
Carpe Diem have just launched the new Steps Charity site. This site features extensive tools that leaves all the sites content in the hands of the charity themselves. This includes the abilty to add subsections to main section, upload downloadable documents and images, and high quality video that automatically loads with all video controls in place.

14/07/2006   Video added to Legend of the Tiger site
Carpe Diem were asked to produce a short promo for the Legend of the Tiger site to promote the downloadable desktop character. This Samurai walks along your desktop, jumps, meditates, runs and slices his way across your own desktop... of course he can also keep you up to date on all the newest product releases.

07/07/2006  Does Google Need An Independent Review Board To Look over Rankings?
As yet another lawsuit gets underway about a site that's unhappy with its Google ranking, Jack Schofield at the Guardian has a suggestion for the company: have an independent "ombudsman" review complaints to make sure that Google is treating sites fairly (BugMeNot pointlessly required to view the link). The suggestion was made to a VP at Google who promptly ignored it (or, rather, looked thoughtful and said "Um.")

03/07/2006  Energy Ombudsman site goes live.
Carpe Diem are happy to announce that the Energy Ombudman have completed entry of all their content into their site using our CMS engine and have given the all green for launch.

Carpe Diem have programmed the site from scratch from a provided design to be full compliant with all W3C standards.

26/06/2006  Carpe Diem Launch New Website
It's taken us a while but we've finally managed to get our new website up. We've been busy working on our clients projects and just never seemed to get around to it. Well we just did!

We will be adding to it over the coming months with some nifty little ideas. Keep an eye out.
